dessalles is derived from deysale which is a bastardization of my last name spelt backwards - the ’s’ and ‘a’ are switched for easier pronunciation. I first spelt my last name backwards when I needed a screen name for an instant messaging account a long time ago. I then franco-fied the bastardized version of my last name spelt backwards when I needed a domain for this website, not so long ago. According to my high-school French, and most online translators, des salles is sort of French for “the rooms”. So dessalles seemed to make sense as the name for some sort of online space for myself.

Believe me…I’m as confused as you are.
